Alloy steel used on ForgeFab sheaves is specially made to provide highly desirable characteristics of strength, ductility and hardenability. The wear path on ForgeFab sheaves is flame-hardened or, alternatively, spin-hardened for long life. Spin hardening, a proprietary process, provides the ultimate in wear for a very reasonable cost. Flame hardening, standard at 16 inches diameter and over, is a market proven system for general applications.
